The Strada del Vino Colli Euganei (Wine Road of the Euganean Hills) extends up to the inside of the Euganean Hills Regional Park, established in 1989, with its 18.072 hectares comprises the largest relief of the hills of the Po Valley. Age-old oaks and chestnut tree forests alternate in the maquis shrub land and the ample terracing of tilled vineyards and orchards.

Nowadays the natural vocation of the Hills, wine production, has become institutionalised by a Protected Designation of Origin status (PDO, or Denominazione di Origina Controllata in Italian) with the recognition of more than 13 extraordinary wines. There is a considerable gastronomic tradition as well.
